Grant secured from VicHealth for the BCSGFSA
Bass Coast- South Gippsland Food System Alliance
Grow Lightly are one of the partners involved with the ‘Bass Coast- South Gippsland Food System Alliance’, which have secured a Government grant from VicHealth's Local Partnerships for Food First program.
BCSGFSA is a collaborative movement, uniting growers, producers, volunteers and consumers to build a transformative local food economy from the ground up. The Food Alliance believes in replacing competition with cooperation and equitable access to fresh, local food for all.
The Food Alliance is looking for more growers and producers, as well as welcoming any community members interested in getting involved with hands-on roles (gardening, packing), people-facing roles (market stalls), or skills-based roles (logistics, teaching).
Grow Lightly distributes locally and organically grown fresh fruits and vegetables to residents in South Gippsland and Bass Coast as a means to support local food security and to encourage local growers to grow more for our community via a weekly online shop and monthly farmers market held at the Grow Lightly Hub, at Coal Creek, 12A Silkstone Road, Korumburra. Weekly or casual orders are welcomed.
The online shop opens 2pm Fridays until 5pm Sundays with pick up available the following Wednesday afternoon. You can sign up to a weekly reminder email or SMS (or both) for when the shop opens, via this link. https://www.growlightly.com.au/shop
