The Growers' Charter

All growers of fresh produce for Grow Lightly are committed to:

​

  • Producing foods of high nutritional value, without recourse to synthetic fertilisers, herbicides or pesticides – foods which enhance the health of those who grow and eat them;
     

  • Working with natural systems;
     

  • Maintaining and increasing the biological activity in and fertility of our soil;
     

  • Using renewable resources, giving priority to those produced locally;
     

  • Extending the range of locally organically grown foods available in South Gippsland and Bass Coast regions, particularly those grown from open-pollinated seed;
     

  • Encourage the use of sustainable packaging where possible thereby limiting the use of single use plastic;
     

  • Finding out more and sharing our knowledge about food plant varieties which grow well in South Gippsland and Bass Coast regions, including native Australian food plants.
