As you might well have heard, Grow Lightly have moved into our new hub, located at the beautiful Korumburra Railway Station building, and have a 3 year lease with VicTrack for a section of the building, the left side from the breezeway when standing in front looking toward the building on Station Street.
This includes room for a much larger refrigerated cold room, to store the produce to help ensure quality and freshness, as well as some storage and basic office space for the team.

The main room, including a small kitchen, has so much more space for the Grow Lightly team to stretch out, and with the implementation of raised platform carts/trolleys in the near future this will help to assist the team of pick/packers to complete the weekly orders without excessive lifting, this will also be of wonderful assistance to the team and volunteers who may need assistance due to physical or health related needs. We are currently seeking help with obtaining these carts, if you think you could help us to achieve this please get in touch with our Promotions Officer via email at growlightlysocialmedia@gmail.com

Our beautiful handmade textile art banner made by Margaret Reece hangs with pride of place in the large main room.
Many of you will recognise this banner, made by Diana's lovely Mum.

With so much natural light flooding in from large arch topped sash windows, the team has been stopping to look out and check the weather and remark on the views of the rolling Korumburra hills, and I'll quote Sandra, a valued member of the team (who makes a great cuppa), who said "we'll never get stressed out from the potatoes again, with views like that!"

Instructions on how to collect your orders are given with your confirmation email after purchasing your order and when the online shop closes each week.
The station can be accessed from Station Street currently, and our banner is hung in the direction of the rail trail facing the main area of the town, a sign is put out on a Wednesday to show you the way to collect your order from the what we call "the Tardis".

We are hoping to have access from the rail trail and main area of the town in the future.
The first wednesday pick/packing day worked well in the new space, with more room to set up the orders, and more room to move around. The team gets stuck in like a hive of busy bees and visitors are welcome on a Wednesday morning to drop in and see how things are done, and to express their interest in volunteering with Grow Lightly. Volunteers will need to be signed up and given a bit of training, so if you'd like to get in touch to express your interest beforehand, please send us an email at info@growlightly.com.au
A HUGE thank you to all the team members, family, friends and volunteers who did the physical and support work of making this move possible. There were numerous trips from the old hub to the new, many hands made work lighter, and there was an enormous amount of effort put in by many.
We need more weekly orders coming in now that we have the capacity to GROW (pun intended), so please share our website www.growlightly.com.au with any friends and family or locals who might be interested in accessing a weekly online local produce shop where you can pick and choose which items and quantities required from the selection available.
With a focus on seasonal organically grown (some producers are even Certified Organic) and all produce is labelled with it's location of where it was grown or produced, with a diverse range of varieties available, it's even better than the big supermarkets and you can't beat it for freshness, many items being harvested only the day before and delivered from the growers straight to Grow Lightly.
