"Soil Your Undies"- Results

Those that attended the Foster Agricultural Show back on the 28th February and took home a kit from the Bass Coast South Gippsland Food System Alliance to conduct the citizen science project for Healthy Soil, Healthy People initiative called, "SOIL YOUR UNDIES" will be almost ready to start digging up their undies to see the results, make sure to post a photo of your results to the Cotton Info Map, found via this link HERE.

Did your soil eat away at the cotton undies and almost nothing is left behind?

If you answered YES, then it looks like you've got healthy active soil full of microbes doing their job well, keep feeding your soil and maintaining its health.

If you answered NO, and your results show that only a little bit of the cotton cloth was eaten away or perhaps it's still fully intact, you've got some work to do to improve the health of your soil.

The BCSGFSA, Healthy Soil, Healthy People initiative run by Buckley Park Farm in Fish Creek will be running an event in 2026 to help you with improving the health of your soil, keep an eye out on our website, blog and socials or check over at the BCSGFSA website, and Facebook for updates.

It's not too late to try this experiment for yourself, schools can get involved, contact the BCSGFSA to see if there are still kits available, and download your files here to get started.
