Grow Lightly is moving!

The Grow Lightly hub will be moving this June 2026, as the council has ended the lease at the Silkstone Road building and it is set for demolition.

After months and months of hard work and negotiations the team has secured a new 3 year lease with VicTrack to call The Korumburra Railway Station home.

A huge shout out to Grow Lightly Chairperson Becky Banks and the Grow Lightly board members, for the enormous effort facilitating this new lease, and finding Grow Lighty's new home.

The Grow Lightly team and community are very excited for this next chapter and to breathe new life into the sleeping railway building, which has had significant work done in recent years to save the building and preserve our local history.

This move will not impact the operations of Grow Lightly, it will take place after the weekly Wednesday packing and delivery/pick up day on June 17th and re-open at the new hub location the following Tuesday, ready for deliveries of locally grown and produced goods.

The move has been thoroughly planned with the help of local Volunteer Chris Chapman, who we would like to thank very much for all of his effort and expertise in organising this project, we value all of our volunteers and team members, each bringing a unique set of skills and life experience to our efforts.

Stay tuned for more about the move and new home for Grow Lightly, with busy preparations underway to add additional support and connection for our local community on projects like the Mobile Grocer, a Bass Coast-South Gippsland Food Systems Alliance project lead by Grow Lightly.

Grow Lightly also has plans for utilising this new space for the community by running more regular events, groups, gatherings and connection based projects. This will be a fantastic way forward for our local food system and community, one step at a time.
